As moms we are constantly running around after our children, cleaning, doing laundry, cooking breakfast and lunch and dinner, changing diapers, helping with homework and a whole host of other seemingly very important tasks but rarely are we able to take a few moments for ourselves.
Are you running on empty? Tired, exhausted, stressed, irritable, short-fused?
If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy! Make time each day to recharge. You are just as important as your kids. What you don't do today, will be there tomorrow. Sometimes it’s best to delay your chores and refresh your soul.
You could:
- Spend some quiet time with God. Pray, do a devotional, or just sit and be quiet.
- Take a long, hot bath.
- Work out
- Sing, paint, scrapbook, sew, knit, do something to express yourself creatively....whatever it is make it fun.
- Give thanks! Start a gratitude journal...when you are down in the trenches it is hard to remember all the things that we have to be thankful for but writing them down can help.
What do you do to recharge?
