On Wednesday, November 6th, we have the special opportunity to serve side by side with our children as we prepare shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. We will meet at 10am at Derwood Bible Church to assemble the boxes.

Each year Samaritan's Purse, a international relief organization, collects and distributes Christmas shoeboxes filled with goodies for needy children around the world. Read more about Samaritan Purse here.

This year you and your child(ren) have an opportunity to be a part of bringing joy to a child across the globe. Here's how:

5. Don't forget $7.00/box for shipping. You can put it directly in your box OR donate online and track your shoebox!  If you donate online, you need to do this BEFORE you come on November 6th.  They will give you a printable label to affix to your box that will allow you to track the box to its final destination.
6. Don't forget to pray for your shoebox recipient(s).

We will provide: shoeboxes, labels, directions for packing the boxescoloring sheets for inside the boxes, rubberbands for the outside of the boxes, and a snack for all box packers!

We will be sitting on the floor to pack the boxes so our children can easily help us.  If you’d like, bring along a blanket!

Cake Decorating

We had a fabulous meeting today with Michelle Smith.  She helped us overcome our fears of fondant and modeling chocolate.  Even though it took 12 or so MOPS moms to do what she does alone, on a regular basis, I think we all left the meeting today feeling a little more confidant in making little junior's birthday cake.

October Mom's Night Out - Cookie & Cupcake Decorating!

Join us for our October Mom's Night Out!  We will be getting some great tips on cupcake & cookie decorating from Michelle Smith & Kristen Lizek.

Michelle & Kristen will provide the cupcakes, cookies, and decorating supplies - please bring $5 to help defray their costs.  They also suggest bringing an apron.  At the end of the evening you will go home with a few samples of your work, recipes, and ideas on how to do this yourself!

Please RSVP by Monday, October 14th.

Hope to see you there!
