We are the Burtonsville MOPS and MOMSnext group that meets two Wednesday mornings a month from 9:30 - 11:30 am Resurrection Catholic Church in Burtonsville (3315 Greencastle Road). If you are pregnant or have a child in kindergarten or younger, we would love to have you as part of our MOPS group. If your youngest child is older than kindergarten, MOMSnext is perfect for you!
MOPS recognizes that the years from infancy to kindergarten are foundational in a mother-child relationship and are filled with unique needs. MOPS helps moms through relationships established in the context of local groups like this one that provide a caring atmosphere for today's mother of young children.
MOMSnext is for moms that are experiencing life after the baby/toddler years are over! Your kids are now in school, navigating complex social situations, you're running them to extracurriculars, helping with homework, and figuring out how to raise and support these "big kids" as they take off in the world! Moms need support and community through this season as well. MOMSnext brings you relevant content to your life stage and allows you to connect with other moms of elementary-aged kids (grades 1-6).
At Burtonsville MOPS and MOMSnext we are building a safe community that disciples, supports, encourages, and inspires moms to embrace God’s divine calling to motherhood.
What happens at a MOPS Meeting?
At each of our meetings, moms enjoy a chance to socialize, relax and learn in an informal setting. At most meetings, a speaker will address a topic related to motherhood or family life. Following the speaker, we'll have time for discussion and socializing. We also participate in craft activities, service events that benefit our community, and other events outside our meetings that help deepen our relationships with each other and with Christ.

How will it work?
Our program combines MOPS and MOMSnext into one group for our meetings. We believe that we support each other best as a group of different ages-and-stages moms bringing different experiences and perspectives to the table.
We will encourage each other, laugh together, cry together, learn together, face challenges together, and walk alongside each other on this motherhood journey.
How can I get involved with MOPS?
If you are a mother of a child age birth through kindergarten, you may join MOPS.Because we need to plan for childcare, please register before attending. To register, you can fill out the registration form on our Registration page or email us at burtonsvillemops@gmail.com . If your youngest child is school-aged, we would love to have you in our MOMSnext group.
What about childcare?
During the MOPS meeting, children will be cared for in a preschool-like setting called MOPS Kids. We strive to make it a fun and nurturing program so that kids are glad to be there, and moms are glad to leave them.
What does it cost?
This year the annual MOPS International registration fee is $31.95...your spot is not confirmed until we receive this payment. This fee goes directly to MOPS International, and in return you'll receive a subscription to a bi-monthly magazine and other great things!
What else does MOPS offer?
Playdates - Each semester we offer several playdates. Bring your kid(s) and enjoy a morning of fun.
Moms' Night Out - Several times per semester Burtonsville MOPS and MOMSnext will organize a Moms Night Out. Leave your kids at home and remember what life was like before kids! Each month we will try a different activity - cheesecake, craft making, a game night, ceramics and more!
