Meet your 2022 - 2023 Burtonsville MOPS Steering Team (and their families)! These ladies work hard behind the scenes to make our MOPS meetings wonderful.
Kristen Llewellyn, Co-Coordinator
Kristen was born and raised in Montgomery County, went to college in Mississippi, then came back to Rockville after graduating. She worked in both private and public schools before becoming a stay-at-home mom. She has been married to her husband, Paul, for 9 years and has 4 wonderful kids -- Clayton (6), Brooks (5), Emmett (2.5), and Devyn (1). She spends her days wrangling children, baking all sorts of pretty treats, creating things (usually involving power tools), and praising the Lord for the wonderful family He has blessed her with. She is so excited for another great year in MOPS, as we all learn and grow together through this crazy adventure called motherhood.
Sam Kapuscinski, Co-Coordinator
Megan C., Hospitality
Megan grew up in Maryland and attended college at The University of Maryland and graduate school at Georgetown University. She is a former nurse turned stay-at-home mommy to 3 adorable ducklings- Logan (11), Auden (7), and Reagan (4). She met her husband Justin while in college and have been married for 13 years. Being a military family they've had the opportunity to live in Europe and explore many parts of the world. This will be her eighth year in MOPS, and fourth year on Steering. She looks forward to meeting so many new mamas this year. She enjoys (in no particular order) traveling, coffee, spending time with her family, photography, working out, Saint Louis Cardinals, and the beach.
Katie Johnston, Co-Creative Activities
Lauren Woo, Co-Creative Activities
Lauren is a wedding hair and makeup artist as well as a birth, bereavement, and postpartum doula! But her favorite job of all is being a wife to her high school sweetheart, Joel and being a mom to her 3 kids -- Aria (4), Arrow (3) and their baby that is due in August! When Lauren has free time, she enjoys shopping, finding quaint little coffee shops, and traveling -- whether it's a day trip or out of the country. MOPS is a great outlet for both moms and kids! And she is looking forward to another year of crafts, making new friends, and growing closer to the Lord.
Melanie Nupp, Table Leader Coordinator
Melanie grew up in Northern Virginia as the oldest of 5 kids. That's the short story anyways. Along the way, she lived in her grandparents' replica of Mount Vernon for a year, in a hotel for 4 months, and went to 9 schools before going to college at UVA during which time she studied abroad in Valencia, Spain. Oh, and she also played the cello for 20 years. After graduation Melanie worked in Human Resources for a small government contractor for 5 years before pursuing her master's degree in Nutrition and Integrative Health. Melanie has been married for 10 years and has 2 daughters. She loves to help people use food to get healthier and feel better and hopes to get back to serving clients as her children get older. Melanie enjoys cooking, teaching her daughters about music, and has a newfound love for exercise. She hopes to make many new connections during her 3rd year in MOPS and 2nd year on the Steering Team!
