Meet The Team: Lauren

Discussion Groups - Lauren
I am the mommy to two precious daughters, Jillian, who is nearly four, and Faith, who is nearly two!
I met my husband Brad in college at Texas A&M, we married shortly after his graduation and then we began our family. We are in the D.C. area for my husband's graduate studies. We have had a lot of fun getting to experience living in different parts of the United States and the world. We lived nearly two years in England (with our two babies) and now are beginning our second time living in Maryland.
I really enjoy making memories and new adventures! One of my favorite things to do as a mom is to plan our vacations, holidays and family fun days. I feel like I have done some exciting things: eating alligator, natural child-birth, scootering in the Bahamas, and parasailing. My favorite pastime is to soak in a bubble bath with a Christian novel and a tall glass of ice water. My husband calls me our family's historian. I have the privilege of preserving our family's memories with fun photos, books and treasure boxes of our special remembrances!
My youngest is definitely my expressive one! She loves to dance, twirl, and sing her little heart out! She is also extremely affectionate and cuddly. My eldest always has lots of questions for her mommy and daddy (deep questions that I think are amazing coming from my little three year old!). She also has the best memory of anyone I know. We really enjoy reading together and she LOVES being with her friends.
What is something you do as a parent now that you always said you would never do?
I was an education major in college. During summers off of college, as well as some semesters while taking classes, I taught preschool. I am a little embarrassed to admit this, but I would sometimes get a little annoyed by overbearing parents, the ones who were a little too involved and worried about their kids! This last Spring, I signed my eldest, Jillian, up for preschool. It is for 2 days a week for 2 1/2 hours at a time ( a relatively short time) and I CRIED as I signed the paperwork!!! LOL! It just seems like this time is flying by far too quickly for me; I can't believe my "baby" is going to pre-school! I heard a quote that I try to remember often, "Don't cry that it's over, smile that it happened."
