And the winner is....Giveaway | Running on Empty

Quote by Art Williams. Graphic found on Pinterest.

As moms we are constantly running around after our children, cleaning, doing laundry, cooking breakfast and lunch and dinner, changing diapers, helping with homework and a whole host of other seemingly very important tasks but rarely are we able to take a few moments for ourselves.

Are you running on empty? Tired, exhausted, stressed, irritable, short-fused?

If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!  Make time each day to recharge. You are just as important as your kids. What you don't do today, will be there tomorrow. Sometimes it’s best to delay your chores and refresh your soul.

You could:
  • Spend some quiet time with God. Pray, do a devotional, or just sit and be quiet.
  • Take a long, hot bath.
  • Work out
  • Sing, paint, scrapbook, sew, knit, do something to express yourself creatively....whatever it is make it fun.
  • Give thanks! Start a gratitude journal...when you are down in the trenches it is hard to remember all the things that we have to be thankful for but writing them down can help.

  • What do you do to recharge?

Please add a comment below and be entered to win a free movie ticket for our upcoming Mom's Night Out Movie Night. Winner will be announced Sunday evening on the blog and via email.

    WINNER, WINNER...

  1. The car can be a site of constant fighting so I need to recharge quickly so I put music on in the car and it really calms me and the boys down too.
At home, I've learned to just take a nap with the boys, its helps them go down faster and I recharge.

  3. These days I take a nap while I can! I also try to make time daily to ready my Mom's Devotional Bible which is so encouraging. Another favorite way to recharge is to hop on my treadmill...can't wait to get back to that!

  4. I spend at least the first 30 minutes of my kids nap time on something personal to relax & take a break from family stuff/housework - read a book, take a nap, etc.

  5. I do alot of things...I have ice coffee every afternoon around 3 while Audrey is napping. I don't drink caffiene in the morning, but in the afternoon to make it through the evening. I also keep a large ongoing stash of dinners in the freezer so that on days I don't feel like cooking, dinner is done. I love cooking, but somedays it just doesn't work out. Getting out of the house is very refreshing. I am the most exhausted on days when we stay home.

  7. I enjoy exercising and/or napping (polar opposites, but equally recharging ;)

  8. I LOVE singing along with praise and worship music (in my van and in my kitchen while I am running errands, making lunches, cleaning the dishes, etc...). I even listen to kids worship sometimes, Shout to the Lord for kids is awesome; it refreshes me and reminds me what an incredible blessing and privilege I have in being a mommy to little ones!
